FCAC or Fundación Cooperación y acción comunitaria in Spanish is a private non profit foundation that was legally established in 2002. It was created as a local action alternative for rural productive organizations and solidarity institutions and it specializes in provide technical assistance and strength small organizations by investigation, training, to improve the life quality of families with limited economical resources.
Its main goals include research promotion and realization of projects to promote social and economical development and education. It offers training and technical assistance through the different programs offered.
Description of the work
The foundation prefers volunteers with experience or knowledge in the following areas: agriculture, alternative tourism, medicinal plants, medicine, languages, environment, pedagogic, and handicrafts.
In the morning volunteers give training in touristic and agriculture activities to the local families. In the afternoons (or mornings as well) in coordination with the community schools and the municipality of Echeandía it is possible to organize workshops for different groups like woman and youth about handicrafts, English or other languages, environment conservation, alternative medicine, nutrition depending on the volunteer interests, knowledge and background.
Keep in mind:
Volunteers must be willing to work and live in communities from limited economical resources. It is also important to have coordination and organization skills.

Volunteers live in the accommodation provided by the foundation.
Costs:
$ 80 USD per week, it covers accommodation and food supplies; Volunteers must cook their own meal with the ingredients provided.
